UNILAB Joins the Nutrition Research Information

United Laboratories (UNILAB)
recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Nutrition Research
Information Network (NUTRINET) at the UNILAB office in Mandaluyong.
The representatives were led by the Food and
Nutrition Research Institute of DOST as the focal point of NUTRINET, the 14
members agencies of the Network, and the UNILAB officials.
The UNILAB is a pharmaceutical agency engaged in a
number of nutritional food product development. It is the first private
industry to be a member of the NUTRINET. The NUTRINET is a collaboration of 14
libraries that aims to achieve an efficient exchangeof nutrition research information and other
nutrition-related concerns among its members.
Dr. Rogelio Panlasigui,
DOST Undersecretary for Research and Development, said that this new
partnership could make a difference in improving the food and nutrition
information system in the country. Dr. Panlasigui
enjoined the members in renewing their commitments by intensifying agency and
Network outputs.
The NUTRINET members avail of many privileges like direct access to the
information and databases, food and nutrition updates, exchange of materials,
information search and referrals, reproduction of materials at no extra charge,
and training in documentation and information management.
