Valuing Life Through Innovations – May 2
The men and women in the InnoGen Pharma Group are guided by the noble principle of: “Valuing Life Through Innovations;” thus it has become our rallying call as we move on doing our share in the service to the people.
This mission is now a byword as it has been said a thousand times in many conventions and seminars. In turn, it has become an inspiration to serve, bearing in
mind the value of preserving and saving life through “Innovating Generics.” We stand firm on this mission while pursuing our goals and vision to be useful to society.
So the question arises, “What are we doing so that we can give value to life?” Our humble role is to create drugs and medicines that are reachable by the people no matter what their status in life is, whether rich, poor or in-between.
The thrust and expectation is to move towards improving existing pharmaceutical products, and developing them into new and better forms, yet of high quality, safe and efficient. So you see, InnoGen is actually in the thick of humanitarian missions to preserve and save life.
There have been some instances when InnoGen got so involved in various medical and civic
activities to demonstrate how we value life. To name a few, the nine
pharmaceutical divisions had mobilized their people to observe this year’s Operation
Bigay Lunas. The yearly project coincided with the 13th annual free
clinic held on March 1, 2007. The medical missions were held this year at the
covered courts in Libis Quezon City and Ceriaco Tinga Gym in Hagonoy,
On hand to render service were volunteer staff from
Metz Pharmaceuticals; Randril International
Company; Eadriex Pharmaceuticals; Vitalink Health Products, Solvang Pharmaceuticals;
Westfield Pharmaceuticals , Aldril Pharmaceuticals; and Dr Zen’s Research, Inc.
They distributed free medicines to about 3,000 low-income and destitute
patients in the two places. Volunteer physicians from various hospitals also
rendered free consultations.
Needless to say, the
volunteers enjoyed the task and went home feeling satisfied despite the
magnitude responsibility and physical hardship. Here are some comments from the
volunteers and doctors:
Metz District Supervisor Marcelino Merced Jr. said:
“It gave me a sense of fulfillment and opportunity to get to know more about
the InnoGen’s mission and vision. There were about 60 volunteers from InnoGen and doctors.
In the meanwhile,
Pharmacist Wendell Doria and marketing supervisor Dhang Espejo observed: “The
medical mission was a source of fulfillment and satisfaction,” And they did not
mind the hitches and the warm weather.
Vitalink Area Sales Manager Haydee
Paras commented too that the “Medical missions had served as a venue for
exposure of their products in a big way.” He added, the
free clinic was fulfilling.
Solvang product manager Len Britos, was also in the
thick of it, and said that the community service to the low-income group was
the biggest so far in terms of turn outs of patients and residents. She added
that it took them one month to prepare for the project.
For her part, Sheila Marie Pablo of Solvang said:
“It was successful so far in terms of residents since they got involved in a
project like this.”
VAMSLER’s Associate Product Manager Hershey Reyes underscored
the teamwork shown during the medical mission. However, he said: “It could have
been a lot better if we had more time to thresh out the plans. The event made
us closer to the people and to one another.”
The volunteer medical practitioners also had their say
on this. Their comments were all generally positive, adding that: “They will
not think twice if offered the chance do this again when InnoGen would launch
similar humanitarian projects in the future.” Another observation was: “It was
organized so well, so that hitches were hardly noticed.”
Week earlier, about 60 InnoGen employees went through Hepatitis and Glucose screening. It was part of the policy of keeping the employees in good health. The management believed that giving the staff better health care would result to excellent inputs of the work force.
The screening was held on February 12, 2007, at the main office of Dr. Zen’s Research-- a provider of innovative, high quality medical equipment and products.
The management also believed that since they are in the business of health care, it is but proper that employees themselves should be health conscious.
These instances are just some of the few, to show that InnoGen has been in the business of valuing life through innovations of drugs and medicines. These drugs and medicines are safe, cost-efficient and of high quality.
Similar screenings were conducted
in some hospitals including the
