| Indications | Listed in Dosage. |
| Dosage | HTN Initially 1.25 mg once daily, maintenance dose: 2.5-10 mg. CHF Initially 1.25 mg once daily. Max: 10 mg/day, take =2.5 mg in 1-2 divided doses. MI 2.5 mg bid. After 2 days, increase to 5 mg bid. Maintenance dose: 2.5-5 mg bid. Prophylaxis of CV events Initially 2.5 mg once daily. If tolerated, increase to 5 mg once daily after 1 wk. Maintenance dose: 10 mg once daily. |

| Contraindications | Aortic stenosis or outflow tract obstruction, pregnancy. |
| Special Precautions | Peripheral vascular disease or generalized atherosclerosis, history of idiopathic or hereditary angioedema, renal impairment, elderly. |
| Pregnancy Category (US FDA) | Hypotension, dizziness, fatigue, headache, GI & taste disturbances, persistent dry cough & other resp tract symptoms, skin rashes, angioedema, hypersensitivity reactions, renal impairment, hyperkalemia, hyponatremia & blood disorders. Chest pain, palpitations, tachycardia, stomatitis, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, hepatocellular injury or cholestatic jaundice, alopecia, muscle cramps, paresthesia, mood & sleep disturbances, impotence. |
| Adverse Drug Reactions |
Category C: Either studies in animals have revealed adverse effects on the foetus
(teratogenic or embryocidal or other) and there are no controlled studies in women
or studies in women and animals are not available. Drugs should be given only
if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus. in 3rd trimester or near term. Category D: There is positive evidence of human foetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk (e.g., if the drug is needed in a life-threatening situation or for a serious disease for which safer drugs cannot be used or are ineffective). |
